The Florida Department of Environment Protection has increased the maximum daily visitation.

DEP had been limiting visitors to Alafia River State Park to 320 per day. As of Friday, 2 Oct 2020, the number is now 480.

We are hoping that this will limit the number of vehicles that line up along the side of County Road 39 just south of the main entrance of the park, starting around 7 a.m. Saturdays and Sundays, to ensure that they get in before the max number is reached when the gate opens at 8.
